Short Story 1- Rebel Glory

The first story i read was about a young hockey player trying to make it to the NHL. He is 17 years old playing Junior A hockey. He played for the Red Deer Rebels and was one of the younger guys on the team. He was a good player, played defence. As soon as the team started to play well things started to fall apart. The conflict was if the team did not make the playoffs the team would be sold and the coach would be fired. There was also mysterious happenings around the team cockroaches in the players equipment, fibreglass in the equipment to cause rashes, and skates and gloves being snipped to throw off the players and break. The young hockey players name was Craig and he was accused of doing all of this, and he was banned from the team until furthur notice. He went into investigating with a friend to prove himself unguilty. After long and hard investigating he ended up finding out who had being doing all these traject things to wreck the team. The man guilty of this was the teams was the Red Deers trainer and equipment manager. His reasoning was he was helping a man that wanted to buy the team cheap if the Rebels didnt make the playoffs. He was in det ten thousand dolalrs and needed to make sure the Rebles didnt make the playoffs to come out of det to make sure the Manager would get the team. under the pressure of making the playoffs and losing the team they fought hard and Craig got to play once again in the final game wich meant win or go home. They ended up battling all the way into overtime where they had pulled off the win and made it into the playoffs/ Craig finally realizes that its better to play the game more because its fun not just his life and realizes he will enjoy it until its over.
